Estimate based on the national uniform residential tariff slabs on the Tariff page, plus fixed charges, GST, electricity duty, TV fee and filer-based income tax. Fuel and quarterly adjustments vary monthly.

Why your real bill can differ

The calculator uses base-tariff slabs. Your printed bill also carries monthly fuel price adjustment and quarterly adjustment, which change month to month — so treat the result as a close estimate, not the payable amount. The amount on the official portal is final.

Want to bring the number down? See the saving tips on the Tariff page — the biggest saving is staying at or below 200 units and keeping protected status.

What the estimate includes

The estimate breaks your bill into the same parts the real bill uses: energy charges by slab, fixed charges, electricity duty at 1.5%, GST at 18%, the PTV fee, and advance income tax where it applies.

Fuel and quarterly adjustments are not in the estimate. They appear on the real bill, which is why the two can differ. The slabs used here are on the Tariff page.

How to reduce your GEPCO bill

Protected vs unprotected: a real example

If your monthly consumption is 200 units or less, you are a protected consumer and pay subsidised rates. Cross 200 units in any month and you become non-protected for that month and the six after it.

Example: 190 units as a protected consumer costs about Rs 3,115. The same home using 210 units as non-protected pays about Rs 8,674. That is a difference of about Rs 5,559 for just 20 extra units. This is the most common reason for an unexpectedly high bill.

See the GEPCO tariff and slabs for the full protected and unprotected rates.

The jumps between rows are the slab cliffs: the band you finish in sets the rate for every unit, so 301 units costs about Rs 1,313 more than 300 units.
